Summary: The Realms of Worship

When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food. John 4:7

The Realms of Worship

Give me worship!  That’s what the Lord meant when He asked the woman by the well for water. He asked as if He was not the King, as if He was not the  Living Water, and as if He had no power to command the waters to split open for the Children of Israel to pass on dry land.  Then the conversation began and headed into the way of worship

Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:21

There's no way we can worship God in the flesh. To reach the core of the heart of God, We have to worship Him in Spirit. The Heart of God is moved by such worshippers.

Worship orchestrates the release of God’s power, it ushers in blessings, it transforms destinies.

When a man prays, he can still pray amiss. When a worshipper with the heart of the Lord worships, He cannot miss God. You are no longer seeking God when you’re worshipping God. You are being sought by the Lord. It does not matter how many are in the place. The host of heaven come down and channels the praise back to the King of glory.

There are 3 realms of worship

The basic level of worship - In this realm, you are thanking God for what He has done in your life. For His goodness, safety, love, provisions, and care. You are thanking Him for family, you are thanking Him for that new job, for the graduation, for the new car, for the new clothes, for perfect health and peace.

The midlevel of worship - You are blessing the Lord for the beautiful gift of nature, for the air that you breathe, for yourself as the works of His hands. You are appreciating the crafts of the Master Crafter.

The highest level of worship - You are worshipping the Lord for who He is. You worship Him because He is I am that I am. You worship Him because He is the King of kings, the God of all nations, the Just God, the Merciful and Loving King. You are thanking Him for His attributes. The is the highest and most powerful realm of worship.

David was a reckless worshipper. He had to die at some point. The Lord extended the covenant He had with David to his descendants. That's what worship can do.
