Thanksgiving by Counsel
Scriptures: Proverbs 1:5
What is counsel?
Counsel is information. Deep counsels come from the word of God.
By having the right counsel, we can worship and thank the Lord in truth.
There is no true thanksgiving without having a heart of understanding. A wise person would first hear of the works of the Lord before they set out to give Him thanks in learning. There is no way we can sincerely without an understanding of the goodness of the Lord. It is important to increae our learning about God, His ways, His deeds. The only way we can know more about Him is through His word. Today, even as we set our hearts before the Lord, I pray that we gain an understanding of His awesome works and rely on the Holy Spirit to lead us in worship.
Prayers
Give me the gift of counsel
In 2019, I will continue to work in your ways.
Help me to associate myself with the people.
Give me the gift of good and godly people around me in the name of Jesus.
Help me to be able to draw counsel from your spirit.
Thanksgiving by Overcoming Complacency
Scriptures: Proverbs 1:32-33
What is complacency?
“A complacent person is very pleased with themselves or feels that they do not need to do anything about a situation, even though the situation may be uncertain or dangerous”
Proverbs 1:32 - For the turning away of the simple will slay them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.
What have we been complacent about? What are the things we are supposed to thank the Lord for that we resolved it was needless to be thankful? Complacency is a destroyer. Complacency begins the process of destruction. When one is complacency, one enters into the cycle of destruction. The heart gets darkened and the heart of Thanksgiving is completely taken away.
Therefore, let's begin 2019 with the mentality of gratitude to God.
Prayers
Lord, forgive me for being complacency in the past.
Deliver my soul from complacency in 2019
Help me become thankful in all my ways in 2019
Help me to never grow complacent beyond 2019
I thank you for the works of your hand, the air, the sun, the moon, the world and even myself
I thank you for family, for friends and for the body of Christ
I thank you for the gift of salvation
I thank you for your word
I thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit
In Jesus name, I pray.
